I can’t even begin to think of a more PITTSBURGH thing to do than see Donnie Iris in Braddock at a restaurant/venue that seems to be a big favorite, Portogallo’s Peppers N’at.
It was my first time there of course. The place was great! There was a huge area to sit in.. I’m not sure if it is like this when it is winter time, I couldn’t tell if the roof was canvas or what? In any case, I really liked it. There was even a place to play Bocce Ball. Oh, I KNOW I’m in the ‘burgh for real now!
I wanted the kid to see Donnie so I got us a couple tickets. The whole night was hysterical, I laughed so hard at everything.
I was totally out of my element. Utterly and completely.
There seemed to be quite a few middle-aged people totally ramped up on blow.
A local weatherman (not sure which one) sang a song and danced around.
I was accosted by a drunk man in the bar. He accosted everyone so no I didn’t feel special!
Donnie was making out with his “girlfriend” who appeared to be at least 30-40 years younger than him (he’s 75).
I think he only did 2 songs?
It was pretty weird and I could NOT stop laughing. I suppose it was a good time then, right??
The best part is that they had Arsenal Cider! It was Isabella Grape 11% ABV and holy cow was it super good! I need to actually go there and see all that they have.
